Steve Ballmer connects conferences. After an event on the release of Windows 8, and that of Windows Phone 8, Microsoft boss found himself back on the stage for the Build developer conference.

On this occasion, he announced that 4 million copies of Windows 8 were sold in the space of four days since the launch of Windows 8 last Friday.

"The level of enthusiasm that we found is exciting", he was delighted. By comparison the latest OS from Apple Mountain Lion was downloaded 3 million times in 5 days.

For Windows 7, it is time to take stock. At the launch of Windows 8. Steve Sinofsky, head of the Windows division announced 670 million Windows 7 licenses sold in 3 years. And over the last 9 months had elapsed to 175 million copies.

This high figure is mainly due to the interest of companies for this OS from Microsoft. Remains whether individuals and professionals will all be convinced to Windows 8.
